TZHunter Report post Posted August 8, 2019 Has anyone ever modified a manual turret punch to be used as a clicker for leather, rather than punching holes in steel? I can get a working turret punch cheap locally and was just wondering if anyone’s done this before? Pic attached
klutes Report post Posted August 8, 2019 (edited) Interesting concept. Keep us posted if you follow through with it. Only issue I see is there enough clearance in the throat. Edited August 8, 2019 by klutes
TZHunter Report post Posted August 8, 2019 I’m thinking that all or most of the black round steel would need to be removed and replaced with two pieces of flat steel of desired bed size. Handle pulled would bring two pieces of flat steel together to “click” items. Others thoughts?
Rockoboy Report post Posted August 9, 2019 I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. It's the same principle, one works with steel penetration and the other is leather penetration (or cutting).
