Members DanishMan Posted September 2, 2019 Members Report Posted September 2, 2019 Dear Friends Two months ago I bought an old skiving machine. Typical old Fortuna like machine I am a bit puzzled, that the machine has no scrap deflector. There is a tiny hole (5-6 mm) in the knife shaft with no threads - I have several scrap deflectors of both the common types, but neither fit. Are there skiving machines, that were born with no scrap deflector? Brgds Danishman Quote
Members CampbellRandall Posted September 7, 2019 Members Report Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) The smooth center hole is to receive the ejector. Ejector has a threaded hole, used to install and position it with a tool https://campbell-randall.com/product/fav-322-scrap-ejector-press-fit Edited September 7, 2019 by CampbellRandall Quote
Members DanishMan Posted September 17, 2019 Author Members Report Posted September 17, 2019 Hi Campbell Randall The center hole in this machine is too small for that. May be it needs some kind of plastic deflector. Brgds DanishMan Quote
Members CampbellRandall Posted September 18, 2019 Members Report Posted September 18, 2019 5 or 6 mm would be about right for the tool, if the center had threads. Might be that the old ejector was damaged and separated from the bell. Could you post a picture of the shaft center? Quote
