Brad44 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 I’m trying to decide which machine to buy between a Brother LS2-B837 and a Juki LU-562. I’m not going to be using them for extremely heavy work and they are both available to me in good working condition for around $800. The Juki seems to get a lot of praises as a reliable workhorse but it’s older than the brother, has a smaller bobbin and seems a little harder to adjust the stitch length. I’ve read that changing the stitch length on the Juki can sometimes require timing adjustments. if anyone has a good working knowledge of these two machines your input would be appreciated. Pintodeluxe Report post Posted November 15, 2019 I can't speak to the Brother model, but the Juki is top shelf. The stitch length adjustment is easy, just push the button and turn the handwheel. It will click into position, then roll the handwheel forward to increase stitch length or backwards to decrease stitch length. The G style bobbin is adequate for some projects and too small for others. If I made belts and wallets, it would be fine. Since I do upholstery work, I went with the 563 with extra large U style bobbin. They are great machines.

aroh99 Report post Posted November 17, 2019 Both are good machines. The brother is a great machine with a big bobbin. The only problem with the brother is parts are hard to find. I have the brother LS2-B837 and some parts from the consew 255 fit and others dont. It is difficult to find the parts for the brother. The juki parts can be found fairly easy.
