Members Zac Posted November 19, 2019 Members Report Posted November 19, 2019 Hey guys, I had a bit of a search and found a lot but a little all at the same time... So I thought I would throw it out there to the brainstrust (and might be of interest to a few people) what is your favourite thread? Brand, material thickness and what you use it for. Are there any reasons why you have settled on a certain thread composition? I only recently got into sewing with a machine and making wallets and bags. I’ve mostly been using bonded nylon (m40) but the current spool I have is average quality at best! Quote
kgg Posted November 19, 2019 Report Posted November 19, 2019 I use mostly in 1 lb spools Coats Dabond bonded polyester in V69 if I want seams to stand up to heavy bleaching. I also use 1lb spools of American & Efird Anefil bonded nylon in V92 and V138 for extra seam strength for something not going to be greatly exposed to heavy bleaching. I also use some cheap Chinese V69 stuff in 8 oz spools which has much more problems related to spring back particularly in black. kgg Quote Juki DNU - 1541S, Juki DU - 1181N, Singer 29K - 71(1949), Chinese Patcher (Tinkers Delight), Warlock TSC-441, Techsew 2750 Pro, Consew DCS-S4 Skiver
