Tipus Report post Posted September 1, 2007 Hi all, got some tools I orderd from TLF, didn't go with projects yet , just took a scrap leather and started to get the feel of the tools, I copied Isis wings from a book cover and gave it a go, DO you have any pointers about making it smoother and give it a more flowing look? Comments are appreciated.
SmilinJim Report post Posted September 1, 2007 Welcome to the forum, great place to learn. That's a nice piece of work, you will do well. But as my daughter hated to hear, practice, practice, practice. Keep on Smilin Jim
Dan Hammons Report post Posted September 1, 2007 That is very good for your first time using your new tools . I have found that stoping ever so often and cleaning up anything unwanted with a modeling tool is very helpfull. I tend to agree with Peter Main that the modeling tool or spoon is one of the more important tools used in smooth clean carvings.
