Rocky101101 Report post Posted February 4, 2020 Hi I'm a new comer to the craft and have a new project, I have made up a design, up where the front faces of the bags are two layers glued and the flap cover is the same. The layers will consist of backing layer 3 mm BLACK Veg tan and dress face 3 mm GREY/GREEN chrome tan with pull up, after gluing what will be the the best way to finish the edge, as they are two different types? I would like a high quality solid black edge if possible . In addition prior to gluing I want to put mushroom dome studs just through the finish chrome tan layer around the edge so they don't show on the inside. I would like a high quality solid black edge if possible This is going to be a challenge, as the edges of these two leathers finish very differently, and will probably not meld together very well. That being said, my first choice for finishing the edge of chrome tanned leather is a product called "Seiwa Tokonole Leather Finish Burnishing Gum." Easy to apply, water based, comes in black.
