Clintonville Leather Report post Posted February 17, 2020 Hello I made an item for someone recently. I tried rubbing off as much dye as I could and put some tan kote on it but the customer is getting rub off. Wondering if anyone knows a good top coat to use on latigo. Thank you
BigSiouxSaddlery Report post Posted February 17, 2020 Latigo is notorious for color bleeding. Horses that have white in the area on their sides where the latigos rest always have stains from the leather.. . appropriately called. . ."latigo stains". As latigo by nature is waxy and sometimes a little oily, most products applied are not going to adhere well. It is the nature of the beast.
