Here are a couple pictures of recent holsters. I made one in a more western style where there is a large peice of leather folded over the back. With that, there is a rather large area of flesh-side and I don't know if I should treat/finish it in some way. 2nd picture shows the back of the holster. What should I put on it if anything?

Here is the back I was asking about.

Tracy,

There has been a number of posts for blue & red guns. I got 2 from theshootersbbox.com and 2 from eletetacticalsources.com. That's all I have for now.

I would either dye the back of your western holster brown or use Fieblings TanKote which will darken the natural color a bit, but leave a protective coating. I like your holster designs.

BTW, I ordered 5 Blueguns from the Shooters Box 2 weeks ago. They haven't been delivered yet. Should I be concerned or am I being my normal impatient self? :dunno:

I bought a couple from the shooters Box and had no issues at all. Did they give you a tracking #? 2 weeks is a little long.

Randy,

Thanks. When I ordered, I asked if they were in stock. One was (1911) and I got it in about 2 weeks. The other needed back-ordered and took about 6-8 weeks (H&K P2000).

I'd suggest just giving them a call.

Hi Regis,

Sand the back a little (only if it's raggy) and then Use Gum Tragacanth. You can get it from the tanner that way (HO is called "Moss Back" and W&C is called "Gummed Back") for a little extra.
