StevenD Report post Posted April 1, 2020 Good day I'd like to know if anyone has considered making a mechanical tool with a hammer action, something similar to a tattoo machine, to eliminate having to manually hit on a stamp with a leather maul the entire day? I'm sure the tool would be better and you could change stamps when needed, like a drill bit for a drill! Of course you can have a speed setting required for stamping intriqute patterns which require less speed than background stamping. Thank you sincerely Steven

johnv474 Report post Posted April 14, 2020 it's a little bit like trying to make a machine that could do oil paintings for you. Just like in oil painting, every stroke is different. Unless you are simply doing a repeating pattern, e.g. basketweave, then every hit of the mallet needs to be slightly different in terms of timing, pressure, etc. If you are doing a repeating pattern then this would be done with an embossing wheel instead.
