Members StevenD Posted April 1, 2020 Members Report Posted April 1, 2020 Good day I'd like to know if anyone has considered making a mechanical tool with a hammer action, something similar to a tattoo machine, to eliminate having to manually hit on a stamp with a leather maul the entire day? I'm sure the tool would be better and you could change stamps when needed, like a drill bit for a drill! Of course you can have a speed setting required for stamping intriqute patterns which require less speed than background stamping. Thank you sincerely Steven Quote
Members johnv474 Posted April 14, 2020 Members Report Posted April 14, 2020 it's a little bit like trying to make a machine that could do oil paintings for you. Just like in oil painting, every stroke is different. Unless you are simply doing a repeating pattern, e.g. basketweave, then every hit of the mallet needs to be slightly different in terms of timing, pressure, etc. If you are doing a repeating pattern then this would be done with an embossing wheel instead.
