I found that if I put some edge ink on a sponge and then lightly applied it to my stamps I could leave a nice dark stamp impression.

It did not work real well for my logo stamp, but it worked great on my alphabet stamps, and I think it would also work for numbers.

Since this is edge ink it cleans up real well with just water, at least this brand does.

If anyone knows a better method please let me know.

Those letter do look great. I'll give that a try tomorrow after work.

My worry would be the accidental touchdown of the alphabet stamp in the wrong spot.

Does it clean off good? I'd be afraid of fouling a set of stamps.

It cleans off the stamps easily with water.

even the sponge cleans up real good. notice the sponge I used in the picture. the picture is after I washed the sponge

Most of the ink transfers to the leather when you stamp.

I have found that if you dye first and wax or neutral tan coat the edge ink wipes off with a little water if it gets in the wrong place when placing the stamp.

If the leather is dry, I don't think it would clean up as nicely, if at all. I haven't tried it.
