Flaminio Report post Posted May 26, 2020 Hi to everyone. I'm restoring an old PFAFF 335 for my personal use. It works with a strange kind of feed dog and plate. The feed dog has a second feed line also under the presser foot. When i start sewing, i have a little backward movement. To improve this feature i bought a new kit of feed dog and plate for Pfaff 335 on aliexpress. Trying to mount i notice that the feed dog is too much long. Has the Pfaff 335 different version of feed dog? Is my sewing machine a too much old model? Thank you
shoepatcher Report post Posted May 26, 2020 The new throat a plate does not look like a 335 that I have seen. I assume the new throat plate and fed dog is a generic? I would try College Sewing web site and see what those parts on there look like. Your new parts will not work. glenn
Uwe Report post Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) Your Pfaff 335 was made in many different subclasses, some of them with parts unique to a particular subclass. The attached PDF file gives you some idea of the complexity behind the subclasses. Generic aftermarket parts often only cover the common high-volume parts. Few aftermarket manufacturers bother to make low-volume specialty parts for rare subclasses. You'll need more than just the throat plate and feed dog to turn your Pfaff 335 into a different subclass. Here's the PDF file with details: Pfaff-335-subclasses-old-casting.pdf Edited May 27, 2020 by Uwe

Flaminio Report post Posted May 30, 2020 The full leght model name of my machine is 335-H3-734/01 6/01-921/01-BS It has a second lever near the stich lenght lever to change the upper feed mechanism (foot + needle) speed than the under feed from 0 to 25%. In an old manual i read that this function is for "work extra fullness" for "setting sleeves in overcoats, sackcoats, ladies' suits and similar garmets". I disassembly the second lever and set the speed difference to 0 stuck. Moreover i have the limited stich lenght, i fix it with filing the plate under the stich lenght lever as i read in this post ( Now i have to change the pulley, to have less speed and more strenght. I think this model is originally designed for cloth, not leather.
