I don't know that there is a "best" as all shops are different and meet different needs. My "best" has always been Springfield Leather Co. They have tons of product, both leather and tools and hardware as well as knowledgeable staff. Plus, they help support this site. You didn't say where you are from. That always helps to know because if you are in the UK, for instance, the answer would be quite different.
