Members 24602 Posted June 18, 2020 Members Report Posted June 18, 2020 I’m trying to adjust this machine but the manual has a little blind spot that I’m hoping someone can help with. There are apparently two types of needle bars those with timing marks and those without. Mine - without. The manual gives a measurement (3/32” ) to raise the bar from it’s lowest point in order to set the needle bar height. This is, I believe, the upper mark on the needle bar that is lined up at the bottom of the needle bar rocker frame. . Now in the next section for hook timing the manual doesn’t give a measurement but rather says use the lower of the two beedle bar marks. Does anyone know the neasurement between the two timing marks on the beedle bar in question? Quote
Members Constabulary Posted June 19, 2020 Members Report Posted June 19, 2020 (edited) 3/32" (2.4mm approx) is the distance between the 2 marks. The upper mark is when your needle bar is at bottom dead center and the lower mark is when you have risen the needle bar 3/32". So w/o the marks, bring your needle bar to BDC from there raise it 3/32" at this point the tip of the hook should be in the center of the needle 1/16" (1.6mm approx) above the needle eye.
