CelticPaint Report post Posted July 15, 2020 Mitsubishi LU2-410 Information? First, I will admit I am new to sewing machines. Not new to leather, I grew up on a horse farm and still ride about 5 days a week. I have hand stitched more than one headstall. I just bought a Mitsubishi LU2-410 (I think) on a local auction. It seemed like a good deal at $200. I have found a technical information manual for the LU2-410-B1T and LU2-430-B1T online that seems correct. It is a 220 VAC 1 or 3 Phase which I understand means it can be wired 220VAC 1 or 3 phase. Sorry for the bad photos. These came from the auction site I cannot pick up until this coming Friday. Now the questions come: · I do have a 220vac single phase outlet available, but would prefer to replace the motor with a 115vac unit if possible? · I see in the manual it is a dual needle machine and I have no idea what this is implying? · And from reading most prefer a walking food machine and in the manual, they call it a presser foot but again unsure? · What other questions should I be asking, and any additional information will be greatly appreciated. Uwe Report post Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) I’d recommend trying to get the machine working as it is before making any modifications. Removing automation parts is not always trivial and may have unintended consequences. You can ignore the automation functions but you may find it very useful, actually. there’s no need to remove the hardware unless it causes problems. Much depends on how you’re intending to use the machine. By the way, your machine is not a double needle machine, those have two needles and two hooks. Mitsubishi did make a double-needle version of this machine, so the manual may cover both models. Your machine is a single needle, medium duty walking foot machine with top, bottom, and needle feed. It’s not a machine intended to repair horse tack. The video below shows how this machine operates when it’s properly set up. It’s a very nice machine, actually. Also, please share what useful information your already found on the machine, like links to the manuals. Edited July 16, 2020 by Uwe
