teetaa92 Report post Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) I just purchased a highlead gc0318-1 and it squeaks constantly from day 1. I've tried everything and nothing is helping. I even called the place I purchased it from and they couldn't help. I took a video of it and it's to big to upload. It sounds like it's coming from the presser foot. DanC Report post Posted August 18, 2020 Ask the manufacturer and attach video "gently" oil the presser foot pivots on the top (needle side) then remove the plates and do the same to the bottom mechanical linkages. You could get rubbing from the bobbin. Go to Harbor Freight and buy their stethoscope and use it. It really isolates the sound and you can zero in on it. teetaa92 Report post Posted August 18, 2020 Thank you for your reply. After taking the plates off and the bobbin out I placed some oil on the bar near the oil pan and it fixed it. It has a wick down by it and it feels oiled not exactly sure why it was causing the squeaking.
