Members jeffgish Posted September 24, 2020 Members Report Posted September 24, 2020 hi , im recovering a leather motorcycle saddle and have been told to use coated nylon thread for this job , also i have been told to use coated polyester , im pretty confused about now whats the general agreement , thanks Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted September 25, 2020 Contributing Member Report Posted September 25, 2020 Both are good but I prefer polyester. Mainly Gutermanns Top Stitch thread. Gutermanns because they've been supplying thread to the auto industry for over 100 years. If its good enough for BMW, Mercedes et al its good enough for me. Quote

But I saw a documentary from a Porsche factory and they used Serafil. So my guess is one more good option. Quote
