leather embossing

hello every one

i want to ask you about leather embossing!

is there a particular book explaining in details how to do it, where to cut with the swivel knife and where not to?

how to make leather putty ( leather dust and adhesive i know but never comes out the way i see in videos' no matter how much adhesive i pure always crampy and goes every where) 

can you help please

happy for your catch but Al Stohlman's book about embossing is all about using layers of leather to pop up the work but the technique i am asking about is neglected in this book>>>do you recommend another one consider my point?

You could also buy embossing filling.

Its extremely  late to answer this, but I would have thought Al Stohlman covered absolutely everything  and every style of leather crafting , embossing/stamping, carving stitching using dyes , paints etc  , too much to list, from beginners to advanced. But could you  be more specific?
