williaty Report post Posted November 21, 2020 I keep seeing many industrial machines list "Workspace: Standard Workspace" in their specs. Googling turns up nothing useful about what this means. Anyone know?
Kcstott Report post Posted November 21, 2020 doesn't mean anywhere what you might think it does. it's more of a statement of special requirements. 3 phase electric, Compressed air, etc.
shoepatcher Report post Posted November 22, 2020 (edited) It is the space to the right of the needle and the head of the machine. A lot of industrial sewing machines in the older generation work space was 10.5" glenn Edited November 22, 2020 by shoepatcher
Kcstott Report post Posted November 23, 2020 well I stand corrected. dealing with machines, work space always meant what was needed to make the machine work.
JollyDodgerCanvas Report post Posted December 23, 2020 "Standard workspace" is 10" for an industrial machine +/-. For a domestic machine it's 7". Medium is anything from 10" to 18" and that's where "long arm" machines start, approximately. I have machines which are 7", 10- 1/4", 10-1/2", 16" all straight stitch, and am considering a 20" zig zag machine for a future purchase.
