Stewey Report post Posted January 15, 2021 Is it big enough? The belly is generally the weakest/stretchiest part. The spine the best part - when it comes to harness leather. If you need length, a double-shoulder might not have it. Figure out the total area you need, and then get the piece that will fulfil your requirements. JLSleather Report post Posted January 16, 2021 As a rule, the butt is the firmest part of the hide (all else equal). But if it's large enough, the double shoulder would make a perfectly good duffel. Unless the duffel bag is quite large, i would think the main consideration would be the look desired. A double shoulder is going to have natural fat wrinkles running in line with the longer measurement, if that matters. With a bit of planning, this can be an advantage ...
