Took some of the advice given

1. Moved the snap hole in some

2. Made the holes with an awl, there smaller and closer together .

3. Put in a stitching groove thread lays in  .

4. Made the Indian head a little smaller ( could go a little bit more )

Finished the edges 2 coat brown edge kote, and gave it 2 thin coats of diluted mop and glow.
