Could someone help me identify this machine and tell me a little about it and if it would be good for med to heavy leather work.

Just from this single picture I guess its a Dürkopp 211 (drop feed) or 212  (drop feed + needle feed) or 219  (top + bottom feed). Class number should be on the oval badge next to the reverse lever.

Tailoring machine - no heavy duty leather machines.
