Members LeatherFireman Posted May 17, 2021 Members Report Posted May 17, 2021 I was recently offered to purchase a Juki DEC-245-7. It’s 3 phase currently. Can I update it with a servo motor? And if so, does it have to be anything particular or just any ole servo will do? TIA! Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted May 17, 2021 Members Report Posted May 17, 2021 If it has toys on it, changing to a plain new servo motor will mean losing all the toys accept maybe needle positioner. want to keep the toys, get a phase converter and you may need a transformer as well. glenn Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted May 17, 2021 Moderator Report Posted May 17, 2021 It really depends on what is actually being powered on the machine. If it is only the motor, you can replace it with any servo or clutch motor you prefer. If the power also actuates the foot lift and trimmer knife, maybe, maybe not.
