Members JackPeter Posted August 17, 2021 Members Report Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) Hi everyone, I know it's also a matter of preference, but I'm curious. I've used 6/7 ounce leather for some gorgeous corsets I've made in the past. It gave a decent sturdiness to the body without being too thick. Curious what other people use, and the type of leather they'd recommend. I'd also like a recommendation for an ounce and leather on harnesses. I've used a 4 ounce in the past and it was comfortable for the wearer. Thanks Edited August 18, 2021 by JackPeter Quote
Lobo Posted August 18, 2021 Report Posted August 18, 2021 Sorry, but I just can't resist! Just how fat is the lady we are building a corset for? Quote
Members spacedog Posted August 18, 2021 Members Report Posted August 18, 2021 I made a corset a while back. I don't recall the weights exactly. I think the front panels were maybe 4-5 oz. but I had folded the edges over and then overlapped them. I know the back panels were thicker because I wanted to ensure the eyelets wouldn't tear out when lacing up the back. I think they were maybe 7-8 oz. and over lapped too. Here is a link to that project. Painted corset Quote
