JackPeter Report post Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) Hi everyone, I know it's also a matter of preference, but I'm curious. I've used 6/7 ounce leather for some gorgeous corsets I've made in the past. It gave a decent sturdiness to the body without being too thick. Curious what other people use, and the type of leather they'd recommend. I'd also like a recommendation for an ounce and leather on harnesses. I've used a 4 ounce in the past and it was comfortable for the wearer. Thanks Edited August 18, 2021 by JackPeter
Lobo Report post Posted August 18, 2021 Sorry, but I just can't resist! Just how fat is the lady we are building a corset for?
spacedog Report post Posted August 18, 2021 I made a corset a while back. I don't recall the weights exactly. I think the front panels were maybe 4-5 oz. but I had folded the edges over and then overlapped them. I know the back panels were thicker because I wanted to ensure the eyelets wouldn't tear out when lacing up the back. I think they were maybe 7-8 oz. and over lapped too. Here is a link to that project. Painted corset

Haha, definitely not the type to judge weight, but their waists are typically small. Usually a size 4 to
