Members Brigg Posted September 17, 2021 Members Report Posted September 17, 2021 I have some horse hide leather and it has a pretty heavy shine to it. It is not shell cordovan. Is there a way to dull it without damaging it? Are normal leather conditioners also okay to use on it? I know for some shell cordovan shoes I bought some saphir product specifically for shell. Quote

If it's a "natural sheen," you might try dulling it down by applying a heavy coat of saddle soap with a micro-fiber cloth. I prefer the glycerin (liquid) saddle soap for this. Quote
