Members ChelseaThom Posted October 26, 2021 Members Report Posted October 26, 2021 Hi leatherworker community, I need to skive my round gussets but am having a bit of trouble with the skiving machine (SIECK HA 50). I'm wondering if you guys can give me tips on skiving curves/round parts. I can't seem to find any resources online to learn about it. Maybe you can point me to a video or give me some tricks and tips. Thank you! Quote
Members mike02130 Posted October 26, 2021 Members Report Posted October 26, 2021 It just takes practice and a sharp blade. I hold on tight where there is always constant tension from the machine pulling and me counteracting it's pull. Quote
Members YinTx Posted October 30, 2021 Members Report Posted October 30, 2021 I've also taken smaller bites to go round the corner, as in multiple passes. Kinda like cutting a rounded corner in leather with a straight edge: small cuts result in a curve. YinTx Quote
