toxo Report post Posted December 27, 2021 So what's the consensus on skiver feet? Mine came with just two, a 50mm and a 25mm but the slope on them is so severe that there's not much actually pressing on the material. I believe it came from an upholstery company and there was a couple of pieces of fabric backed foam in the drawer so maybe these feet are for squishing foam down for skiving??? I have some bits in my chinese "cart" including a couple of rollers and flat feet but am holding fire until after the holidays because there's a company in London that might stock them. So what are you guys using and for what material and how do you like them?
mike02130 Report post Posted December 28, 2021 Slope? Do you mean a curve? The feet usually have an arc to match the round blade. A straight foot will make a different cut. I would think it is more for special cuts.

Only about 1.5mm is actually pressing on the material. It's skiving well but it does mark the leather because of the pressure needed to move the material with such a small amount of foot. Can't wait to experiment with rollers and flat feet. I'll take some pics. Here ya go.
mike02130 Report post Posted December 28, 2021 Yeah, I call that a bevel(?). They're like that so there is an opening to start feeding your leather into the knife. I bought some sort of Teflon tape to put on the foot and it helps protect the leather from getting marked up. I also bought a foot with a roller. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00823JF0S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032AM6I4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08W8QZ2G7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
