Kovant Report post Posted December 30, 2021 Hello As I say in another post (I ask about machines), I want to start making leather jackets but I have a problem. I don't know how to make a flat felled seam on the sleeves (sewing machine, not handmade). I'm going crazy searching and I can't find anything about it. Can someone help me? Thanks! Flat felled seam are sometimes referred to as lap seams. A couple of video's for you to look at: 1. No attachment and basic principals : www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1vJzVW2lLk 2. With a Lap Seam Folder on Hightex / Cowboy double needle: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmxvdtlWdZQ Hope this helps, kgg
Kovant Report post Posted December 30, 2021 Thanks, but my doubt is how to do it on the sleeves (to "close" the sleeve). Best regards

kgg Report post Posted December 30, 2021 Another thought would be to construct the sleeve similar to a pant leg where you would do the lap seam first and then the inseam. The down side is that you would have a second seam rather then a cylinder with just the lap seam. The up side is you could use a regular flatbed or cylinder machine with a table top attachment. Just my thought, kgg
Kovant Report post Posted December 31, 2021 I don't quite understand. One of the seams would still be "simple", no? Thanks

The outside seam is Lap Seam (sewn first) and the other seam (inside seam) is just a simple seam sewn with the material inside out. kgg
