  1. The other day i came up with this messenger bag/side arm bag idea. There are some design cues from other leatherworker.net members [thank you for the inspiration]. Pics
  2. I love this piece, especially the oak tooling. Just curious, what oz leather did you use throughout the project?
  3. Love the design and layout of the bag. All the proportions just work.
  4. Wow...this looks great. I have been planning a laptop bag for the past year, but have procrastinated telling myself I don't know enough yet. Any pointers and things to watch for when designing and making a beauty like this? Can we take a peek at the inside?
  5. Thanks, the compliments are much appreciated!
  6. No, its not lined. I just thought the stitching would add a little extra class to the design [although it serves no functionality whatsoever].
  7. Being in school, trying to finish my bachelors, its hard to start any major projects. So to keep my fingers wet i decided on a small one over this past weekend. I finished up the stitching last night. Its based on the design of Chan Geer in LCSJ July/August 2003.
  8. What kind of consistency is your acid solution? I'm worried about wetting the leather too much on the surface and diminishing the detail of the tooling. Any ideas? Thanks.
  9. This is my first leather craft project. I decided that i'd done enough 'tinkering' and laid down some real work. Its an acorn pattern taken from Al Stohlman's belt book, with some initials on the tail end. Overall i'm happy with my work, and look forward to making some more in the future.

I love this thing. What did you do to get such a worn look/color around the edges?
  11. Jason Smith: Those knife sheaths are awesome looking. Really like the attention to detail on the stitching, and shape. What color and brand of dye did you use on the one 3 from right [light brown/tan]? I love that color.
  12. I just spent 20 some hours tooling a belt, applied some Eco-Flo dark brown as usual and, wham... nasty grey black grossness. Is there anything i can do [besides going black] to try and somewhat fix it?
  13. Love all of your pieces, and posts.

  14. welcome to the site
