I have actually some brass rivets here, but I need antique ones for a next project and do not want to buy new ones. I thought that there maybe some chemicals can help, to get such an antique effect, but I don´t know what kind of. Thanks for every hints. Cheers, Marcel EDIT: Google is my friend ;-) I found this in the Net: Whitechapel LTD. I also saw I page were was written that simple dipping in vinegar could make an antique effect. Maybe someone of you has tried it before ?!? -When not, I will give it a chance and report the result...Any other suggestions from you ?? ChuckBurrows Report post Posted January 10, 2009 (edited) Here's some brass and copper patina formulas........ http://www.sciencecompany.com/patinas/patinaformulas.htm You can also use "home" chemicals such as onion juice and vinegar to dunk them in. Warming the metal first can help speed things up....Or fume with ammonia. Take a look at my site - www.wrtcleather.com and you can see some of the various looks you get........ Hope this helps.......
