Looking For A Special Tool (Stamp)

Recommended Posts

hi my name is richard, i am from vienna/austria

i am new to leatherwork and to this forum. My first topic is about a stamp, i am looking for.

Do not now, if that is custom, or where i can buy it.

Try to describe it in my poor english.

looks like a beveler, that bevels both sides, like a V or also good a U in the leather. Perfect would also

be one that brings a U outside the leather.

Made a sketch for better understanding. and i post also a picture ( hope that is OK) from xian leather where you can see

how the tool works.

i am glade that i have found this place, where i can find so much know how and inspiration.

regards from vienna

The edging is done with an edging tool. It has a screwdriver like handle and you pull it along the edge to make the line and smooth edge. The other lines look to me like you want to cut them in with a swivel knife. The double line (#4) is cut with a special blade.

It LOOKS like you're talkng about a gouge. Available in "V" or "U" shapes, for making tight folds.

The dots are probably done with a tool commonly referred to a "seeder."
