My Grandmother just passed away and I inherited a table my Grandfather built in which he had leather inserts. He did not carve the leather, but had burned images into the leather. The leather now has some water damage, etc. I am trying to find out how to clean it safely, then protect it.
hi i am a beginner at making armor, i am considering different techniques on how to harden leather to make armor. the first is take latino leather and sprits it with water to mold it, the other method is take vegetable tanned and immerse it in water take it out and put it in 180 degree water then mold it. I need some advice of which one or any other suggestions.
I have a small leather shop (partime) in South Texas and I'm in the market for a new sewing machine. I've been using a Ferdco Baby bull for about 12 years, there is nothing wrong with the machine or the stitch in fact it stitches really good. I am looking for any help with making and manufacturing gun holsters, rifle slings and quivers. I have dove myself head first into running a small home-based business manufacturing and designing hand made gun holsters, slings and quivers. I was a ten year 4-H member and have quite an extensive background in leather crafting, however this is something I have never tried before. I am having a difficult time finding patterns and even the start up materials. I do not have a ton of money to work with
I have an old purse project that I purchased in ther early to mid 90s when I was in 4-H.
I like to assemble the project parts together for the bag and tooling leather parts, but I have misplaced the instructions.
I am hoping that someone out there may recongize that tooling leather parts and be happy to photocopy the instructions and send them to me.
Whatever arrangements that can be made will be done.
