Contributing Member JLSleather Posted February 20, 2021 Report Is that 'waffle' from a cutting board or press plate? Wonder if a guy could eliminate that with a layer of smooth leather over the block? Quote
Members Brooks125 Posted February 20, 2021 Report It comes from the sealer bags, since I use a vacuum sealer on the wet forming. It only shows up on the back. I have to smooth the wrinkles out of the front. I've actually had customers compliment it as a "backside" feature (seems odd to me, but they have.) I think they think it makes it "grippy". I WOULD like to try using natural rubber to smooth out the front when I vacuum form it. I'll keep you posted. Quote
Members RevMoore Posted February 24, 2021 Report I have alleviated this in the past by putting a thin piece of leather "Face to Face" inside the bag with it so that the flesh side of the thin scrap leather is what is touching the bag thusly protecting the smoothness of what I was wetforming. Quote
