hylander Report post Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) I am looking for straight pinking tools similar to this one. Does anyone have a source for these? I have only been able to pickup old punches and was hoping to find a source for new pinking punches. Much thanks in advance! hylander Report post Posted July 28, 2010 Thanks! I have sent him an email. I saw on his website that he has round pinking irons so I asked if he does straight irons too. Hopefully he does!

Sparks Report post Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) Tried Greenman and never heard back. Gee, same here. I sent him an email asking about his round pinking irons and he never responded. Maybe we can assume he is enjoying a long vacation in the south of France or some such. Hopefully he'll get back with us...he seems to be the only person carrying round pinking irons. jimsaddler Report post Posted August 22, 2010 Hi These are easy to make for your self. I used a piece of 1 1/4" Spring steel to make my nice wavy one for rein Hand Parts. Then welded a piece of 1/2" square Steel on for a handle. I've used it for some 30 years and it is still better than the Old ones I had. Just use Chin Saw files for round teeth and Saw Setters Files for square. That is how they were made originally. Start by marking the gaps with a hacksaw, then enlarging them to become cutting edges. Spring steel didn't need tempering and was workable with the Files. you can us Tool steel but it requires annealing then Tempering again after you work it. On end off a Car Sprind will do also. Kind Regards. Jim Saddler. I am looking for straight pinking tools similar to this one. Does anyone have a source for these?
