I’m going to attempt to make my first overlay style belt, but I’d love some advice! I’m trying to add floral on the billet and buckle but want to make the middle of the belt rough out. How can I achieve a good overlay, I tried looking for a video to help but didn’t find one.. Would I skive down where I want to add the overlay so it sits flush? thanks!

Thanks! I tried to find anything that could give me a better understanding my only option was to buy one and try to get a template based off of that.. this is beyond helpful i appreciate it!
