  1. Hey cool! any good guilds or groups that get together to talk and work on leather?
  2. Howdy all! Been kinda lurking and posting a little here and there. I make possibles bags and shooting bags and knife sheaths and archery items and the like...mostly stuff for late 18th century to early 19th century reenacting! I also have a small website at http://www.rbleatherworks.com/ Thanks for looking, David
  3. Here is one that I made not too long ago...
  4. The body of the bag is sewn together at 11 stitches per inch as well as the two pockets on the front. The bag has hand cut fringe and features a nice gusset in the bottom that narrows down at the corners. He needed two pockets on the front to hold stuff, so he got that, as well as a strip sewn across the back inside to hold his short starter and powder measure and pan charger when they are not being used. Further, he wanted his totem on the front with a red wool backer. Its the first time I have done one with a cloth backing and I think it turned out pretty good. The strap is adjustable as well as the straps that will hold his powder horn, which he wanted to be removable as well. So here it is!
  5. Well I am kinda new to this site but have been stitching by hand a while...and I never burn or tie the ends of my thread. I use only waxed linen and back stitch three holes for one thread and four for the other so that they end up on the same side and then snip them off very close to the leather. I have never had a piece come apart... so far.
