I use mine for sanding the edges as well and I also use it for burnishing and punching holes. I just chuck an awl point in it and use it for making stitching holes being careful not to go too deep. I know, I know, I am a cheater.

I was gonna try my hand at using sinew for hand stitching but don't know how to tie the sinew to the needle. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
