  1. So I received my servo, with speed reducer from Bob at Toledo, thanks Bob. The thing have made my recent couple projects come out nearly perfect. The control is amazing and the adjustments in speed are mind blowing compaired to my old clutch. I have one question for all you servo pushers... Why hasn't anyone ever mention how painfull it is to sit through a bobbin winding? haha All the best, Rich
  2. I of course will buy the smaller one if its a good price. Thanks, Rich
  3. Hello, I recently posted about hooking up a second machine on a larger sewing table. I have recently thrown that idea out the window in hopes someone close to the Los Angeles area has a cheap used table that will fir a walking foot machine (consew 255) will trade this large table straight away for the smaller one if anyone is interested. I am only interested in the table and frame. no motors are needed. Thanks, Rich
  4. Thanks for all the insight everyone. I think I was a bit vague and in being so missed the boat. My table is literally 6'x5' which is an amazing workspace. I was lucky to find my set up as is. Since it is so large I was assuming I can just drill, my hopefully new 227, onto the same table off the end. sort of how the mini table looks from Dirck. Drill, or router out the holes for the belt and mount an old clutch. It all looks and works in my head but everyone I have spoken to thinks im crazy. Not to say thats not true, but i think its gotta work. Or, if anyone is in LA and wants to swap a large table for a small one let me know. All the best, Rich
  5. Hey everyone, I have been looking into purchasing a cylinder arm for some time. The hold up is my lack of space in my shop, and I can not fit another sewing table. I am running a consew 255 on a large industrial table as is, and I was wondering if anyone has installed 2 machines on one table before? and if there were any negative issues with it? Any pics would be helpful too. I would appreciate any insight. Thanks, Rich
  6. Thanks for the reply Wiz... Can I run the 138 and 207 thread in the bobbin as well? Thanks for the help. Rich
  7. Quick question for you pros, I have been running a 92 thread through a 22 needle on my 255rb-2. I want to go thicker, like a 138 or even up to 207. Is this possible on my machine? Thanks for you help, Rich
  8. Is the machine still available? 310-408-8147 Thanks, Rich
  9. Art, Thanks so much for the help. I just set up the 255rb-2. I was able to get it for $280 and wow he had no idea what he had. With the money saved I need to get a servo from toledo but damn this thing can sew. Took a bit of a learning curve, uch different than my 31-15 but exactly what I need. All the best, and hopefully I can return the advice some day. Happy holidays, Rich
  10. So, the 255rb2 is $400. Should i be weary? I gotta say i am a bit. I will be checking it out tomorrow. Anything i should keep my eye out for? Thanks so much for the help. Happy holidays, Rich
  11. I am working on getting a new machine. First I thought a motor would help but I am just going to save up. I have seen many consew model, ideally I want the 206-RB5 that many recommend but what is the difference between some of these models? I saw a 255 rb2 that seemed nearly the same as the RB-5. What's the deal. Thanks for your help. Rich
  12. Thanks so much you guys. Looking to get the motor soon... All the best, Rich
  13. Hello everyone. I had high hopes of getting a new machine but good ol' uncle sam killed that dream so.... I am purchasing a new servo motor from Bob at Toledo and I was hoping some of you could shed some light on mounting it. I have an old open clutch motor that has a 4 hole pattern and my new servo will have three. Will at least two of the holes line up making the third hole easy to mark or will i have to drill 3 new holes in my table? if I do need to drill 3 new holes, what are my main concerns? how critical is the alignment? Thanks, Rich
  14. Thanks Wizcraft, My budget is hopefully on the lower end of $500 to $1000. I have read many of your threads and was pretty keen on getting a 206, 226 or the like. Then I read a post on your recommendations for the juki LU1508NH. I guess my main issue is I don't want any issues. I am not sewing through a lot of thick veg or anything. I am doing belts and bags 2-3 oz lined, so at the most I would be going through 6 layers of 2-3 oz. I use basically 18-21 leather needles with no larger than #92 thread. Thanks so much for taking the time for this. Rich
  15. I would like to start by saying, that everyone on this site is amazing and i'm obsessed. The wealth of information is never taken for granted. I recently acquired a Singer 31-15 and have been amazed at its performance until I want to get into heavier unskived materials. I would like to step it up. I have been reading recommendation after recommendation and I can't figure it out. I will be sewing through 2-3 oz most likely 4-6 layers for bags and belts etc. If any of you have a light weight machine such as a 31-15, what machine did you choose for a step up and would you choose something else if you could were looking for a new machine? Thanks for your help. Rich Suemi
  16. ok, Here is the situation. Don't get jealous but I found a 31-15 for $80 bucks. The whole kit n kaboodle. I am pretty excited to get this thing rolling but I need to do some repairs on the clutch and motor. It's not perfect, but come on for 80 bucks????? I have worked on motorcycles before and think I have a grasp on it but yet I am not sure as to where I would reinstall the clutch cork. Does it go on the motor side thats spinning, or the clutch side attached to the foot pedal? Also, any advise on the alignment / distance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rich
  17. has anyone found a way to split about a 1/4" into the edges of a belt from beginning to end? I have a new tool in mind I was going to make to accomplish this but I thought I would ask first. I want to split 8-9oz leather strap edges only, leaving the center in tact. Hope that isn't confusing anyone. Thanks in advance, Suemi
  18. I just checked them out and it seems pretty self explanatory. Would I be able to use the pedal built into my table though? Or would I have to use an external pedal? Thanks for your help. Rich
  19. Does anyone have an easy way of slowing the motor down on my Machine? I just purchased a 211W155 for sewing leather which seems to do that job well but it goes way too fast. It's either sewing like it's posessed or off. I need more response kind of like a throttle if you will. Is there any way to get this done? Thanks, Rich
