I have volunteered to provide leather dog leashes to a canine rescue organization. I thought it would be a good idea to have the name of the rescue on the leash. The leashes will be made of latigo leather. How or can you put a maker's mark on latigo? If so, where can you order the stamp or branding iron to do it? I'm new at this, but have seen it mentioned on some of the tutorials on the forum. Thanks for any advice!

That is exactly what I was looking for. It's simple, yet very nice. All the other harnesses I looked at had hardware all over the place and made the harnesses gawdy. I will let you know how they turn out. Thanks

Does anyone have any patterns for large dog harnesses (Giant Schnauzers)? I am looking for something simple that a dog is unable to "back out" of (which has happened with to me before). I will be using latigo leather once I determine a design. Is it possible to use the nylon pinch snaps with leather (like is used on nylon)?

I rounded the edges with a bevel. Should I use the nylon wheel, or sand some of the rough parts? After I use the Edge Coat should I buff it? Thanks for your help.

The same goes out to Tandy Leather in Indy. I am just beginning my leatherworking journey and they were very helpful and above all patient. A real encouragement to a newbie to have so many helpful people out there.

How do you burnish edges on colored latigo leather? I have seen instructions on veg-tanned leather that requires many steps. Is it the same process for latigo?

I am brand spankin new to leather. What is a fair price for latigo leather? Also, is there a supplier that is of good reputation and prices that folks use. I am in the process of getting tools and materials to start the leatherworking hobby. Thanks for any pointers for suppliers.
