  2. This is my first introduction to the BBQ holster, and i like it... so no wet molding to it, just carving. Hows the retention with these types of holsters? They are B E U tiful!
  3. To bad I cant put them on my glock Those are sweet!
  4. Wow I appreciate the responses, Twin Oaks you gave me alot of great ideas, I tend to improvise with tools often not sure why I felt I couldn't with leather. Thanks everyone for your comments and I am going to use your suggestions.
  5. Would like to know the dimensions of the pieces, and the weight of leather, great tut!
  6. First thanks for taking time to look at this, I am brand spanking new to this art and am in need of the basic tools to get started. Like every one else money is always tight so used is good! I am looking for a good knife, edgers, overstitchwheel ,sewing supplies, etc. just the basics so I can get started and from what I have read and what I have been told I do not want any Tandy tools. My budget is 100.00 dollars (I Know, I know..) But with three kids and the economy thats what I can spend (and not get in to trouble with the wife) to see if I will enjoy this en devour. I can also trade I have a kayak 2 person on top made by coleman its unsinkable believe me on that, and I have an "antique" whiskey distiller that I am no longer wanting to "display". I live in SE Florida, if that matters thanks again.
  7. Thanks for the welcomes so far, King's X I was think of making a truckers wallet ( I saw the great tutorial and think I might be able to give it a go). Should I start with the 7 piece tool set from tandy for that? Dave, I checked out your website and I must say I was in awe at the piece you make, incredible pieces of art.
  8. Greetings Sam, I just found this forum today, but on the east coast seems like there is a couple Floridians here which is nice to see!
  9. I would like to start by saying hello to everyone, I am so glad I found this forum. I have just recently started to carry a concealed weapon and haven't found a holster to my taste so I started to look and see how hard it would be to learn how to make my own. The thought at first was impossible, then today I found your forum! Incredible, I must say I am extremely impressed with what I have seen so far, and from the reply's I have seen, everyone is very friendly and polite (which sometimes is not the case in other forums I have been in). I have learned so much just today I can't wait to get some tools and start! I live on the Treasure Coast so if anyone is near me I would like to hear from you. Thanks. What kind of projects would you recommend a newbie start with, belt, wallet, pouch, etc.?
