Just wondering if other suppliers would carry those type bobbins. With bobbins being listed for their specific machine, I was not for sure
which were compatible. Just keeping my options open.
Just had a thought pop into my head (scared me silly). I have a cowboy 3500. Are the bobbins (large capacity) unique
to this machine, or are there other brands that will fit it?
I did not degrease the steelwool. I am getting ready to test a better quality leather piece to rule out the leather. If it is still flimsy, i will try de-greasing the steelwool.
Did two holsters in vinagaroo (same leather batch) and had what looks like a weird effect.
First: The edges of the leather became "feathery". They never really burnished or sanded smooth. Almost like a fraying.
Second: The leather never stiffened after drying after the forming.
Has anyone had this issue? This is my first time using this stuff so I don't know. I am hoping it was the leather batch. I have not
tried it on anything else as I don't want to ruin good leather.
Thanks in advance.

That is normal wear and tear on the barrel hood. More than likely someone touched it up and the tape took off the touch up.
Painters tape should not damage any factory or properly applied finish. What you are seeing is the slight scrape you get when the barrel drops down
to disengage from its locking lugs and the slide moves back and over the hood.
well, i will give it one more "super soak" and see if it will expand enough.
The problem is i have a stitch that sit right against the the frame, so i am not sure how much
give i am going to get.
But, as stated....its already paid for......
Thanks for all the support and ideas to make the cow submit to torture, but alas....my mis-stitch is my downfall.
I tried the super wet noodle approach with no success. I concur with you Particle, Vinagaroon definitely adds some serious
water resistance to the leather!
The good news is this holster will be useable for another auto....just not the one it was designed for .... sigh.
