  1. nice work i like the blue zip's now that you have made one are you thinking of doing any thing differently ? could look cool with some stamping but then again simple is good too. those blue zip's could look really hot with some ultra neon yellow leather vary mod the posibltys are endless. thanks for sharing Paul

  5. interesting thread but to the point! i'm new here and i don't have allot of experiences. but i do have i hope a generous spirit and i say bravo for showing your work. i think its a fun project i love the Scottish styling and i'm sure with time things will tighten up on your craftsmanship. the important thing is that you tried. all juryes start with the first step. i think the project speaks volumes about your sens of creativity and willingness to jump right in. you are obviously a creative person. i don't think iv seen any thing like this posted. so it shows that you thing out side the box and that is a good thing. I my self am a full time fine artist and tho i can appreciate a good gun holster its just not my' thing (not a criticism of any ones work) i want to explore and see what others are doing that takes leather in to a new realm of creative expression' you have demonstrated that in spades! so again Good job. do more. we are all supporting you 100% in your jurnye of self exploration thew your art . PS not to put fuel on the fire but that is how you support a member its 99% positive and 1% negative. if we do the opisit all the time how many new people will stick around here and what would that mean? the end of Leatherworker.net ? there are ramification to what we say even if it is on line. to coin a faze the pen is mightier then the soared. and one last comment we all don't really know each other and you mite want to consider that because of that we don't know how are criticems will be taken this is a multicultural world wide site and are American style in your face communications are considered rude out side of the US there is nothing wrong with being gracious Paul
  6. here is the finished work i know my stitching sucks so you don't have to point that out LOL all get better this is only my second sporran/leather project
  7. good point and i totally agree how ever even a Scotsman will admit the blime bleading English do make a nice piece of leather! LOL
  8. Amazing work good job i stand in awe Paul
  9. her is a new sporran i am working on. its all done except dying thinking on that and the stitching down the center strap, i was really inspired by the molded sporran guide in the how to do that section. this is my second leather project i watched every vid on here as well as read about 100 threads. its fully lined with Calf skin 1.oz that turned out much better then i expected i molded the liner then left it on the form and molded the tooling leather on top so they would fit snugly over each other. it was a bit of a bear but i worked with it. o and i made sure to fully trim the liner before starting to mold the outer shell. i did use a vary durable glue to secure the piping around the outer edge. i did't want to have a bunch of stitches showing as i'm still profecting my sewing skills in leather. also the idea was to do something a bit more English looking. have nothing against western ware but as i ware a kilt every day it seamed a good look. i'm a professional fine artist working in Oils as well as water colors and i have been tailoring for a couple of decades. so i do have a back ground in design next project will be a matching curer bag i'm going to do a hole set of luggage with a kilt case for traveling so my kilts don't wrinkled all in this same English molded saddle bag style all with as few seems showing as possible Paul
