I have some of the Createx Wicked Opaque White and some of their reducer. I well try that on some scrap. The POW looks great! Did you go over balck with the Angelus? I might check around at the local leather shop to see if they have the Angelus. Any place other than a leather shop that might carry the Angelus? Thanks for the help.

I am doing my second project for a friend and he wants a large part of it white. My question is if there is a white dye? I read in another post that you can add a another color to the white acrylic to dull it down a bit which I think would be my best bet if there is not a white dye. In the pic, he wants the background white.. some kind of Fire Chief thing.. I think it would look great stained and put some anitque on it, but I am not a Chief. Thanks for any help!

The holsters look good. I am getting ready to try and make my first holster for a Bodygaurd 380. How well does the clip work on the IWB you did? I can't decide between a clip or a belt loop. Welcome to the forum!

Sorry for the delay in responding. Been out of town. I used veg tanned leather and I think it is 8 oz. I tooled the front and then cut it out just shy of the final size. I then took another piece of leather that was larger then the front, glued it to the back, then immediately wedged it in between 2 - 2 gallon buckets to give it the curve (I put the leather in wax paper to protect it while wedging it in). I let it sit overnight. I cut the back piece of leather down to the same size as the front and then used a dremel to sand it down to the finished size. All I had around for paint at the time was some cheap acrylics that my wife had. I painted it then sheened the paint, then stained it. Unfortunately, the sheened areas of paint rubbed off when I stained it (my mistake) so I then went and bought some better paints ( Wicked by Createx that I can use in my airbrush too) and repainted it. I then stitched it and airbrushed on the final sheen. If you have any other questions let me know.

Thanks gringo. That is my first completed leather project. I started over once because I learned my limitations in a couple of areas on the first try. I have started my next one but recently ran my thumb through the table saw so it will be awhile before I can get back to leather working. According to my 6 year old "that was a dumb thing to do!"

Very nice work. I need to learn more before I attempt something like these. They look great. I especially like M&P holster. Don't really see holsters that nice for an auto in the stores. Thanks for sharing.

Well I just finished my first leather project. It is a shield for my leather helmet at work. Please let me know what you think and any suggestions and advice. I plan on making some more for the guys on my company, but first I have some leather projects for the upcoming hunting season to try.

I am in the same boat with the shift work I do. Good to know someone somewhat local I can get in touch with for help. I have several other things I plan to eventually make once I find where all my time goes and save some for leather working. Have you ever dealt with The Leathersmith Supply Co. in Overland Park? A friend told me about them today but I have not been by there yet. Anyways, thanks for the welcomes!

Hello all. I am new to leather working. Started by wanting to make a new shield for my helmet at the Fire Department. I have finished my first one that was more of a trial and error attempt. I have a lot of questions now and look forward to browsing the site.
