About Me
I got into tooling leather in highschool. Our arts and crafts class had a leather tooling segment and I picked up on it really fast. Having horses, I realized very quickly how useful this sort of skill would be. After a couple of class made projects, my parents went out and bought me the biggest Tandy Leather tooling kit they had and thus started my hobby.
I have made holsters, belts, spur straps, headstalls, repaired./replaced saddle fenders, horns, rigging, etc. I used to go to the auction and buy old saddles and tack, restore them to better condition and in pretty much all cases, double or triple my money in a few weeks time.
After being out of the hobby for about 20 years I got back into it again casually in 2011. There was enough demand and by 2017 my casual hobb began to grow a bit out of control By early 2018, I jumped off the edge and officially became a business - Diamond J&A Leatherworks
I am the A and the J is my fan club President (My Husband) who is learning, provides support, trouble shooting and anextra set of hands
I am all about new techniques, and ideas. I love to do unusual projects rather than just wallets and belts.
