  1. NICE!
  2. Sent to me from SYLVIA. Be careful what you ask for you might get it. I found this recipe in an OLD OLD book, called Dr. Chase's Recipes. Water Proof paste. 1 lb Tallow (rendered beef fat) 1/2 lb Bees Wax 1/2 pint Neatsfoot oil 1/2 lb of Rosin (pine tree pitch) lampblack for color. But I would use artists oil paint to color it brown/tan. Mix until well combined over heat. Pour into a good container and allow to solidify I AM CERTAINLY GOING TO TRY THIS! 1/8 AT FIRST:) I WILL POST PICS THIS WEEK AND A FULL CRITIQUE:) This seems like a great Pitch Blend concoction.
  3. Email sent. Chancey77
  4. AWESOME! Thanks for the share!
  5. PM received and sent:) That is a cool book...I have to ask my folks if they have that somewhere in their library. I did some searching about that book Dr. Chase's recipes...very good stuff in there for sure!
  6. Inside door panels. BTW! Where are you in Finland? PM sent! And thanks Sylvia!
  7. I did ask Fiebings and basically no help....I called them directly.
  8. Definitely not crying just fed up from time to time:) Who is Bruce??? And yes I would love to get enough to cover 37" x 37" times 2 I have to use it on door panels for a 51 ford pick up after I do all the carving...I have not used it in a while, and I am thinking I will need a 32oz jar...Money is not a problem! THANKS!
  9. Thanks Randy! I just basically do about 10 real light coats of neats foot oil, and then about 5-6 coats of Beeswax based Leather Balsam heated and buff. Then I give the customer a can of what I used and send them on their way with some advise that just like their boots they wear everyday that it is up to them to take care of it themselves or let it get ruined.... But at 500-1200€ a seat they mostly listen to good advise:) I tell them every time they clean their bike during riding season to also put a coat of balsam on the seat. Leather is never completely waterproof but with proper up keep it is almost 80% waterproof:) If it is raining like hell then just put something over the seat and if it does get super wet, just let it air dry, do NOT USE A HEAT GUN! hahahahaha
  10. That is exactly what I was thinking...THANKS ARRON! Someone to step up and say I'm your huckleberry! hahahaha I am contacting Abbyengland 2morrow and try to talk them into shipping it. That is what the TLF people I deal with every week told me also is to contact AE. Because even TLF England does not carry it because they got caught shipping it and now cannot even carry it is what I was told. I have been using Carr Davis Martin neatsfoot oil and leather balsam and it is awesome stuff, and a very cool helpful company, but they don't make any stains or antiques. I will let yall know if I need someone to ship it here for me, if a company won't do it, then maybe we can do it person to person:) I have paypal! And a project this month that needs antique!
  11. Thanks Tina, It is acrylic just like the eco flow TLF carries. If it is all i can get I guess I have to live with it or not use it at all. I may just have to talk abbyengland into sending the Paste on the low down. Talked to the folks at Fiebings directly today...and needless to say..... should I even say it...NO HELP!
  12. I am astounded at the lack of help from Fiebings! I have spent probably 10,000+ dollars on their products over the years, and I asked them for some solutions and help on my quest and they told me basically that they have no idea where I can find any of their products that can be delivered to my door. Gave me a web site in Norway that only carries saddle soap....hahahahaha I asked if he could maybe tell me without telling me how i might go about trying to attempt to make my own antique and he basicly told me there is NO WAY he could or anyone at the company could even give me a slight suggestion/idea on how they do it..... It can't be that hard to make a very small batch.... I am so glad I have put food in their kids mouths all these years! Thanks for NOTHING! Are there any disgruntled employees out there?????? hahahahaha Lets have some simple solution to my problem.... I need antique paste! Does anyone have a can handy; is there any ingredients on the side??? Maybe I can paypal someone to ship some to me????

  15. THANKS!
  16. THANKS!
  17. I just did it with a Swivel Knife and my dads old Plastic Swivel knife burnishing tool, that basically I use on very project. To me a bevel on one side of the line all the way down. Thanks:) Colors, I just brushed the background black and use a old sock to stain the outsides with red-brown dye. the natural I leave plain, after every project I apply neatsfoot oil and then leather balsam, heat with a hairdryer and buff.
  18. I personally always have my clients measure their strap and make it fit only that guitar, if they want to add more wholes for strap locks I will do that as well.) I use 8.9oz leather and make them out of 1 piece almost always. Tool what the want tooled and add my own flair. I never sew anything I always use lace:) That is my preference and a family choice for 4 gens. I think if they are one long piece it makes that strap look like it was only made for them and not a factory strap. YOUR STRAP IS VERY SWEET! AND WELL MADE!!!!!! Very Pro! NICE WORK!
  19. So I just got off the phone with some folks in England and since I live in Finland with the shipping restrictions I cannot receive Antique paste or Wyosheen....they wanted an extra 60€ for hazardous shipping.... So just like everything else here I have to figure something out... Has anyone tried to make their own Antique paste with a good result. It can't be that hard, I am sure someone out there has tried. PLEASE HELP! Tandy said they could ship the Eco Flow Professional series but they have not had any feedback about it. Almost all of the things I make are heavily used and in my experience eco flow has never cut the mustard even with a good sealer. I am at a loss. I am abut to embark on a huge project of making some door panels for a 1951 Ford pick up truck and with all the 100's of hours that are going to be going into these huge 2 door panels I really don't want to get all the way to the last step and ruin them! The client really wants them antiqued tan and right now I am at a loss. Money isn't the issue just plain resources! Something I have taken for granted; growing up down the road from Tandy now that I live here in Finland, is almost impossible to do some what I have always considered a simple task.... Any ideas????????? PLEASE HELP ME COME UP WITH A GOOD SOLUTION...that doesn't involve me getting on a plane:) Does it seem like my only option is water based eco flow?????? I HOPE NOT! If I am wrong and it is a great product PLEASE CORRECT ME! I need to know from some real experienced people here no novices. Recipes welcome! THANKS A MILLION!
