Thanks silverwingit. I already use that trick for the front site channel. Unfortunately, I cant' "borrow" this particular weapon since the customer lives in another state. Thanks for the reply.

I've been working with leather most of my adult life but only started doing holsters fairly recently. So far it's all been local, pretty straight forward stuff but I just got a request from out of state for a molded holster for a Browning High Power with a lazer. I can't find a Blue Gun with a lazer for this or any other handgun so how do you guys who have been doing this for a while handle a situation like this?

What Was Your First Leather Project?
evensteven replied to gaseousclay's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
My first project was a quiver I made in a High School crafts class in 1964. -
Myself, I would attach them to the outside but I think it's going to come down to a matter of personal preference. I see no real advantage or disadvantage to one over the other.

Here's another holster. This one fits a Baretta M9. Sorry about the photo quality.

That's fine work. Amazing for your first on out the gate!

This was for a client who wanted a high ride for his single action .44 mag.

How Do I Stop My Leather Stretching When Embossing?
evensteven replied to Pinky's topic in How Do I Do That?
Go to the hardware store and buy some clear, adhesive shelf liner. Cut it to size and stick it to the back of your leather before you tool. Works great! -
Thanks! Appreciate the info. I guess I could have figured that out on my own but, being brand new here, it seemed like as good a way as any to break the ice. Thanks again.

I've been making holsters for a while but I've never done a thumb break. My question is, do you have to use a one way snap for a thumb break or will a regular line 24 work?

Howdy folks. Just joined the forum. Been doing leather work for near forty years. Been looking for a forum to swap ideas and info with other like minded craftsmen but it's been hard to find any that are active. This seems like a good place. Anyway, here's my site. SV Custom Leathercraft Hope to make some friend here.
