  1. This cell phone case is the first item I've made that I'm ultimately happy with. It's not my first, but the previous efforts have all had some flaw that annoyed me enough to not be comfortable showing off, not that this one doesn't have flaws. The photo with it upside down was to show the friction retention, heh. Any criticism is welcome!
  2. Ahh, I'm glad to hear that it is approved. I didn't know how they did the approval process, so, it's good to hear that they had already had it approved, hehe.
  3. I honestly wish you the best of luck, but, I think I remember there being something in the Kickstart ToS about funding having to go directly towards a specific product, not just an overall business start-up fund or for getting supplies. I genuinely hope that they have changed their rules to make that a more accessible goal for people, but I think they might take issue with your goal. Admittedly, I am remembering this from looking through their ToS from several months ago, so my info might be outdated.
  4. I see a lot of people saying to go to www.greyghostgraphics.com I've checked out the site and they do seem to have pretty high quality work on making custom maker's mark stamps out of a kind of durable nylon (I think). This IS a stamping tool. As long as you have your leather cased, just a poly mallet or a maul will let you make the impression very well. The price for the stamp can run anywhere from about $60 to $100 or so, depending on the size of the stamp. It's been a while since I've checked their site, so my numbers may be a little off there. Edit: This is of course for use with veg tan. I have absolutely no information regarding chromexcel leather, so I'm not sure if it would work on that material or not.
  5. Hehe, as do I. An image has to really leap out at me from there for me to notice it.
  6. I think what he's talking about is currently showing on the Recent Gallery Images bar on the main page. Looks quite nice.
  7. I had hoped that the Pearl additive would act as a white, but it seems to just make the blue shiny, hehe. Like I said, I have tried to dilute it at various strengths, and haven't come up with a satisfactory result. Was hoping someone might have a solution specific to this brand of stain. I see people talking about using denatured alcohol, and I wonder if that might not be my best bet. Just don't know if it will just tone down on the vividness of the blue, or if it will actually lighten/brighten the color as I want.
  8. I have been enjoying my usage of the waterstain, I think the colors are quite attractive and they apply very evenly. I was, however, wondering if anyone else that had been using them noticed the colors be significantly darker than the sample swatches. Specifically the blue color. I apply according to instructions and allow to dry, but the blue is always SO dark. The swatch is a nice mid-range blue, but mine comes out so dark. I've tried thinning with water and with the pearl additive (also wanted to test the shininess of it), and have yet to find anything that even comes close to the swatches I've seen. Does anyone have some suggestions for lightening the over all darkness? Thank you in advance.
  9. I really like the look of the long wallet, it's a very nice, clean look. I'm actually using it as the inspiration of my first project. I'm just king of free-eyeing the pictures of the finished product and making up templates and prototypes that are similar, but not the same as, your design. I hope you don't mind, heh. Again, very nice items.
