  1. Our very own Chancey77 has a new album out. He's authorized everyone to listen to it, as well as download from here http://m.soundcloud.com/chris-chancey/sets/the-regulators-the-mynterl

  2. Ordered a hide and i cant use it for tooling since it has been oiled. Is there anything i can do to it, to make it suitable for tooling again????

When I first started crafting I got a grey hide that was oiled and not able to be tooled. I use it for canteens, handbags etc.. It still takes dye. Just crappy when you intended to do something else with it.

I know the feeling all too well. Got my self really good with the utility knife a few weeks ago. Even worse is when you have a wound that seems to get hit every five minutes during the healing process.

  11. So stoked I got a wicked cool Biker Vest Template...I was tired of people asking for me to make them...So I made a Template! IT IS ON!!!!

  12. Crunch time. Have less than two days to finish three toy holsters a pair of gaiters start and finish a "steam punk" ladies belt and add some straps to a vest. On top of that I have to dismantle three toy guns then paint detail and reassemble them for sealing... Why do I procrastinate...

For the Captain's mug I have handtooled gears/sprockets, tooled a compass, his name and rank, and the entire seal on the backside. This mug is for the USS SAN ANTONIO LPD 17. It should be amazing. It is a gift for him from the "guys" and he is demanding my email address so he can order one LOL. They keep telling him I am backlogged and will contact him when it's ready.

Thanks Double's :) It IS such a good/bad feeling. What started as a pretty standard Navy coffee mug with a name and rank on it has become completely custom work. They are sending me pics of the ships seal (extremely detailed in color) and might I add impossible to tool and asking it to be on one side of the mug. I am doing it for the Captain, but directing others into something else. I talked the fire fighter into cross axes with flames etc..Only because the still want propellers, gears,...

  22. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried Blockout instead of Resolene that I usually use as a resist. I put two coats on and let it dry for 30 hours. The least I can say is I am so PO'ed right now. It bled thru so much. When I wiped off the antique it was natural in blotches and dark as even in others.

Thanks Murray. This last project may be more than I can chew. I have made steampunk leather mugs with propelers that spin, real pipe handles, and a bunch of tooled gears. The orders are rolling in like fire. I should have bought the gear stamp LOL.

Same here Murray. I thought blockout was a sure thing due to it being thicker, it just made sense to me. I am also back to super sheen :)
