  1. I know a guy that makes beautiful leather roses. I will make sure he sees this. Maybe he will be interested.
  2. There is a Facebook group called "Leather Tools For Sale" and a man named Wade Saddlemaker just listed a 3 piece set of stamps he called Hamley Desert Rose. Not sure if that's what you are looking for or not. The one is a 5 petal flower. Way out of my price range lol.
  3. Merry Christmas everyone!

  4. Here is a link to his FB page. I think he might have even come out with another set of patterns since this one if I remember correctly. https://www.facebook.com/thecrystalanvil And this woman has some AMAZING things she makes for cosplay. I don't see why any of this couldn't be made with leather. She has books for sale and tutorials as well. http://www.kamuicosplay.com/tutorials
  5. Ray, if I lived closer I'd be there to have coffee with you! My prayers are with you.
  6. Tandy has a paperweight tutorial made from them. I know it's not the same, but you can get ideas from the video maybe on stitching and such. http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/Horseshoe-Paperweight-Video-How-.aspx
  7. The markings look like they were done by a swivel knife to me. If you are looking for a nice natural wood grain pattern on your leather I'd use real wood. I have a few nice pieces of cedar wood that have amazing markings on it. I just case my leather and clamp it down on the cedar wood for a while to get a nice natural wood grain pattern.
  8. I am pretty sure you can get the pattern in Tandy's Leather Library if you aren't having luck with the above listed ways. I know it was there a couple years ago.
  9. I just use a chunk of beeswax and rub it straight on the edges. I then use a piece of canvas to slick it a bit better. Finally I use my edge slicker for the final touch up. Paraffin wax is a little harder than beeswax and is a bit cheaper. I have used that blend as well. I don't know the real reason people blend it, but as an ex candle maker I would assume the beeswax/paraffin mixture seeps in nicely and then hardens as well because paraffin is solid when set.
  10. Yes, beeswax will certainly leave a nice edge. Just remember you can not dye OVER the wax so make sure the wax is your final step.
  11. There are a few I'd probably be interested in as well that Cyber doesn't want.
  12. I agree! The second I saw this post I Googled the machine. It's actually about half the price of some of the machines I was looking at last year. This one is so tempting.
  13. I have been to the one in Allentown before.
  14. Welcome! I do believe there are three Tandy Leather Factories in PA. Allentown, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh.
  15. Love this piece! Awesome job all the way around. The black dye is nice and even, the black/grey shading makes it all come to life, and the lace is on point. Well done!
  16. LOL No problem! I went through the same thing when I was researching armor. Finally I stumbled by that name.
  17. Nice work and it is certainly original. Lederrudi, use the term cuir bouilli when you search this site. It is what the process of boiling leather is called. There are lots of interesting things here that people have made using this process. It ranges from small items all the way up to full armor sets.
